NSL, a UK wide business supporting Local Government operations needed to move from their existing Head Office in Hangar Lane as the lease was expiring and it was no longer fit for their purpose. Over time a number of different parts of the business had established themselves in this office but they did not need to remain co-located. The Company Board wished to understand the options for relocating their teams to either other existing offices or one or more new locations. Their remit was to provide upgraded facilities to allow more efficient & collaborative working across their teams.
We started by identifying and scoping the options available. These were based on a review of the existing NSL offices and input from a number of property agents to understand office spaces located within travelling distance of the existing location. In parallel we worked with key stakeholders across the business to capture the criteria upon which to assess these options. This analysis was then used to provide a recommendation to the Company Board.
Once approved we then worked with the business leaders to plan and deliver the move to four separate locations, two already used by the organisation, and two new spaces. This involved forming a cross functional team, and working with a series of sub-contractors to ensure a high quality fit out of the new offices. The move took place in stages, all of which we managed closely to ensure activities were completed to time and budget whilst minimising disruption to normal business.

The teams benefited from new, upgraded facilities and the higher quality head office was more akin to the company brand. Delivering the project to time meant that they were able to vacate existing properties and streamline their lease costs. Fit out costs were managed to budget so there were no hidden surprises.
“Liz project managed our recent office moves and did a fantastic job. The project was on time and within budget. Liz is a pleasure to work with and her project management, organisation and communication skills are excellent.”
